I read this story this morning and wanted to vomit.

So you've got a genetic disorder that you, yourself, describe as devastating. You're living off public assistance and you've got a revolving bedroom door - all because of your lipodystrophy. And then you have a kid. "Oh Noes!", you might have said when the poor dear came out all broken like you. Seemingly without skipping a beat, you inflicted your disease on a second child. Then a third.

You are a fucking monster.

Sometimes our genetic code gets a bit wonky when babies are made. That's a regrettable part of evolution - not all variants are viable. I get that. I also understand that you might unknowingly possess a recessive trait that could result in birth defects or diseases. Bad fucking luck isn't what I'm talking about here.

You knowingly passed on a genetic disease to your kids and I hope they hate you for it.

You know, just the three kids on public assistance is enough to piss me off. Sprinkle in the genetic disorder catastrophe and it moves into the realm of the farcical.

On the plus side, the kid just needs to learn how to effectively market the hand she was dealt by her stupid bitch mom... she could be buying booze (at a substantial markup) for all her peers!

Yeah maybe, but I gotta go with Knepharious on this one... as a child with a potentially devastating genetic disorder myself (UNknown to my parents at the time) I think the lady probably should have stopped after one kid, even IF she was in a stable, financially sound, home. They were unclear on how educated she might have been about the dominant nature of the gene and likelyhood of passing it on. But after she watched one kid struggle with it, you'd think she'd reign in her selfishness and make her assorted fuck buddies put a jimmy hat on.

I understand (although don't "get") humans' need raise a mini-me to represent them in the world, but when you're knowingly setting the kid up for years of turmoil even if they do find a cure eventually... It is, IMO, irresponsible at best.
